Holy Fuck, I Do Know What I'm Doing

Doubters are bitches, and y'all bitches better recognize...

Sat down at the track today, dropped $5 aimlessly and then constructed a $24 trifecta on race two at Belmont that hit for $118. From there I broke even on the Juvenile Fillies (hit the exacta for $27), fucked up the Juvenile (keyed First Samurai in first and second, but not third in trifectas), but came back with a vengence in the Fillies and Mare turf. Intercontinental at 15-1 was my pick on Oddjack this week, and I turned a $10 win bet on him into $161 when he crossed in first. I missed on the Sprint, but came back to split the trifecta on the Mile when Leroidesanimaux came in second with our (split the ticket with Bob) for a $252 win ($126 to yours truly). I whiffed on the next two and sat out the Classic, ending up +$156 on the bets I made at the track.

Took the oh-fer on the Pick Threes, but even with those factored in, I'm still more than +$90 for the day.

More importantly? I at least hit one of my three picks in every race for the picks I made at Oddjack. It's been a life-affirming sort of day.

Breeders' Cup Picks

I've been killing it all week with Breeders' Cup coverage on Oddjack, and am headed to the track in about an hour with Bob to play the card today at Belmont.

So far, I used my remaining $60 on YouBet to put the following Pick Three tickets together:

· (First Samurai/Private Vow) (Film Maker/Intercontinental) (Battle Won/Wildcat Heir/Lost in the Fog)
· (Taste of Paradise/Battle Won/Lost in the Fog) (Artie Schiller/Singletary) (Happy Ticket, Nothing But Fun)
· (Diamond Omi/Knights Templar/Adieu) (First Samurai/Steviewonderboy) (Ouija Board/Intercontinental)
· (Lost in the Fog) (Leroidesanimaux) (ALL)
· (Happy Ticket) (Bago, Shirrocco, Azamour, Ace) (Saint Liam, Flower Alley, Oratorio, Perfect Drift)

Best bet of the day: Happy Ticket in the Distaff

Longshots to watch: Diamond Omi in the Juvenile Fillies, Battle Won in the Sprint, Silverfoot in the Turf, and Nothing But Fun in the Distaff

My Luck Is Changing

I need a ruling here. I went on a tear of good luck this weekend that started with this (thanks RadioVegas):

I didn't just hit a straight... I hit the elusive SEVEN CARD STRAIGHT, which I think pays double. I got all-in on the flop after re-raising my victim pre-flop. "I have outs" was the comment, and I caught two of them.

I took my drunk ass to the nickel/dime side game at Stars after bouncing out of Wil's tournament and proceeded to run through four or five buy-ins, which doesn't sound lucky but was definitely fun. I think I called out Div for being Welsh and told him he could shove his sauerbraten up his ass. Most of that was dronkey (drunk/donkey) poker, but part of it was that I was on Full Tilt in the $3/$6 game, and was wiping the floor with the competition.

My $3/$6 sessions for the weekend? +$81, +$53, -$61, +$160. Oh, and I released $40 of bonus money to add to that total too.

Now, I'm figuring my luck has turned. I didn't play any cash game poker on Sunday (too busy dissecting the two Juvenile races on the BC card for Oddjack), but one of the following events - which I'll list in chronological order - has corrupted my lucky streak and will leave me floundering miserably through my sports bets and horse picks for the forseeable future. I need you to tell me which of these events is the point I should refer to when I'm trying to explain to my landlord on the first why she'll need to wait to see if the Chargers can cover before I can get her the rent money:

1) At approximately 5:45PM EST on Sunday, I ran AKo into QQ and bounced out of the Blogger Championship on Stars.

2) At approximately 7:30PM EST on Sunday, it was confirmed that both Buffalo and Tennessee had lost, effectively crushing the entire slate of parlays I had set up. With the Lions win, I needed one of those teams to win outright just to break even. Had they both won, I'd have been up about $120.

3) This morning, at approximately 6:15AM EST, I found myself apologizing via email for an erection I had nine-and-a-half years ago.

Anyone got an opinion for me on this one?
